First Annual Marc Fisher Smeltdown Winner!
And the Winner Is:
Mike Shank
Arbovale, WV
The Winning Entry:

I always wanted to go smelting because of my quest
to discover the unknown. Until Saturday I had never
heard of smelting, but after listening to the show, I realized that it
would have to be great fun. Being a native of West Virginia, the word
itself sounds like something we would be good at. It would have to rank
right up there with chasing a greased pig, coon hunting, and shooting rats
off the kitchen sink. I hope you will help make a dream of mine since last
Saturday come true.
Sincerely,
Mike Shank

Have a Listen
Listen in while Michael chats with the Smelting host Brian Polzin. Want to hear Michael read some of the entries? And some more? And still more? Bite those nails and join the fun with this tense moment as Michael reviews the four finalists. Feel like you were there: listen as the audience cheers for the lucky winner.
For some background information, listen in to the show that started the smeltdown, and if that doesn't satisfy you, check out the smeltdown update from the April 4th show. Still can't get enough? Well then tune in to Michael reading the review by the contest's namesake. Marc Fisher is a radio critic for the Washington Post who thinks Whad'Ya Know? is just Lawrence Welk music and farm reports.
